^V^ Resorts n OBAMA wanna to shut down AIG ? ^V^

^V^

B4 we talk about Obama , let take a look at our Resorts @ 1.93 , I still remember there is a TA blogger calling "SELL or CUT LOSS " on Resorts if she dip below 1.85 , FYI, Resorts did touched 1.84 on 16/3/09, if one followed this "sinka TA method" he would hv cut loss @ 1.85 liaooo...look ! how much is Resorts today ? those who followed that sinka should be regretted by now liaooo..ha ha

How many times TA has proven us wrong ! how many mistakes they need to make somemore in order 4 them to wake up ?

Is uncle sam a TA extremist ? my answer is :-

问我点解会高兴 究竟点解要 ANTI TA? 我笑住回答 讲一声 我系我 ^V^

Come back to Obama , it is a good news 4 those who wanted 2 buy AIG below 1.00 , I got this message from one of my fan saying : Obama administration seeks powers to shut trouble firms like AIG "..

Well.. I think this is quite impossible .. u know how much they hv put in AIG since d crisis broke out ?

Do u think they wanna 2 c another mkt slump like what they did 2 lehman brothers ?

I will put my bet (10K to be invested in AIG below 1.00 ) on it , i doubt US gov dare to do that !?

If we die , we r not dieing alone... 10K is no big deal as compared 2 those who hv huge share portion in AIG like Temasek, Morgan stanley n GS ^V^

Come baby come ! I am waitng 4 u @ < 1.00 ^_^

2 those Resorts holders , MY TP 4 resorts is anything above 2.10 , I am ready to take profit anytime from now ^_^

2 those art followers, do u like d pictures that posted as above ? look at d colour n drawing , absolutely first class , I like it very much ^_^

Cheers!

NYSE Suspends $1 Min Price Requirement
Call it a sign of the times: In an effort to keep companies listed amid market volatility, the New York Stock Exchange has temporarily suspended the application of its stock-price criteria and extended the temporary lowering of its market-capitalization standard for listed companies.

The Exchange has suspended until June 30, 2009, the application of its stock-price standard, which applies to stocks whose average closing price falls below $1 over a consecutive 30-day trading period, according to a rule filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

It also extended a previously announced lowering of its minimum global market capitalization requirement to $15 million from $25 million, which would’ve expired on April 22.

In a press release announcing the moves, Scott Cutler, NYSE Euronext EVP and Head of Listings for the Americas, noted that the overall market downturn has deepened since NYSE first enacted the easing of the market-capitalization standard on Jan. 23, causing an even larger number of stocks to fall below its requirements.

“We are taking proactive measures to ensure that the stocks of NYSE-listed companies can remain listed in the current difficult market conditions, enabling them to be available to the investing public during this period,” Cutler said in a press release.

Hi Sifu, Is AIG a good company and worth for long term holding for example 3 to 5 years?

After the company faced the crisis and almost bankrupt during end of last year, she had sold out most of her properties in order to pay back the bond to FED, it is quite hard for her to climb back to the top. I agree with you on the pick of AIG at the price below 1 USD but do you think it can be hold for 3 to 5 years?

On top of this, the management of AIG seem not so thankful with the helping hand by US gov. what i observed is the main direction of the management still not heading to the right direction to save the company but they keep on benefiting them self by releasing the bonus, after the US gov show their un-happiness only they pull back the bonus. this type of management are putting the company at a risky place where they only depending the helps from US gov. i'm doubt that they still can make good profit with this attitude.

Above is just my thinking la, so want to ask for Sifu's opinion on the company lo. buy in AIG at 0.30 definitely is a 90% win decision but holding for mid-long terms mayb not so convincing la.. their management really disappointing lo.

tailow said...

sam, itrade cimb can trade online, but charges not cheap.
usd25 + rm20 per transaction for us share trading.
for h.k., they charge hk150 per transaction or .4% whichever higher, n some other small small charges ( excess fee, n don't know apa fee-lah)
for spore, they charge.. lupalah

pls refer ms 'apa', sorry forgot her name, from cimb.

all d above, for reference only, tak sure correct or not...

Samgoss said...

Thks ck n tailow 4 yr infos .

2 Ronan , well..if USD 15 for AIG is far from realistic , then what about USD5.00 ? hard to achieve ? USD5.00 x 3.6= RM18.00 liaoo..is good enuf liaoo.

anyway, I still think that USd>100 4 aig is something achieveable in next 5 years ^V^

Yes, most of d negative facts posted by u r truth , it is bcos of all these negative factors that brought AIG down from usd 70 to current level of <1.00 , if not bcos of all these , no way AIG could traded at this level..right ?

Ronan said...

Haha you are right Sifu!! in this bear bear market, USD 5 should be enough for AIG d, don't be greedy too greedy :)

Just take a look at this very optimistic article on Citi below:

Why I'm Holding On to Citigroup Stock 14 comments
by: Jacob Jordan March 31, 2009 | about stocks: BAC / C
Jacob Jordan
Add to Your WatchlistAbout this author:
Profile & More Articles
Become a Contributor Submit an Article Font Size: PrintEmail TweetThis Citigroup (C) has quickly become one of the most rotten, stench-producing equities on the market. From taxpayer infuriating bailouts, to non-existent dividends, to Citi’s desperate attempts at asset rebuilding vis-à-vis self-amputation (think Nikko Cordial), all the way down to the suspicious “leaked” memo concerning its operating profit expectations, it is in a sorry state. At the moment, however, I am determined to remain long on this sick puppy. Fundamental to my thinking is the fact the U.S. government now has a near 40% stake in the bank, and nationalization—at least the de facto kind that leads to shareholder wipeout—is off the table. Forget the “too-big-too-fail” rhetoric.

Regardless of the truth of this, the government has put its money [my taxes] where its mouth is and purchased about 36% of the company’s common stock. Hold onto this for a moment. Consider Citi’s recent repurchasing of mounds of the evil mortgage-backed securities which got it where it is in the first place. Why would Citigroup (and Bank of America (BAC)) disregard its Treasury-sanctioned obligation to lend out the bailout money it received, thus priming the loaning mechanism of our economy like we were told? Why would it take that money and buy more of those bad debt obligations? That is very strange behavior, at least at a cursory look.

Within the context of the the huge government investment and the banks’ recent meeting with President Barack Obama, CEO Vikram Pandit’s seemingly disingenuous anticipation of profitability and the ostensibly misappropriated use of the bailout money make it appear that Vikram Pandit wishes to annoy the new administration and risk an SEC, Senate, or other legal investigations. Obviously, Pandit is no Sandy Weil. But he is not an idiot. He is merely doing exactly what the government has instructed him to take the lead in doing—transforming his own bank into the proverbial “bad bank.” However, Citi—along with BofA, most likely—will not simply hold these bad assets in suspended financial animation. They will sell them back to the United States government (and the speculative investor) at a premium.

What will happen then? Well, if the FASB changes the mark-to-market rule, they will be inflated in value before even being sold on the secondary market. Of course, once they are sold through the Timmy’s PPIP, the buying pressure will bring the price up even more. Of course, the government or investor is being ravaged without mercy, since they are paying inflated prices for the MBS. In the case of the government, however, their 40% stake in Citi will become much more valuable once Citi’s own assets shoot through the roof (although they are paradoxically buying the assets which are inflating the price). So what this comes down to (and I optimistically believe the latter) is gauging what represents the bigger amount: the cost of the government buying the MBS, or the increased value of the government’s partial ownership of Citi.

Now, considering all of these things - the memo, Citi's quarterly report on April 17th, its recent acquisition of more mortgage-backed securities, the "Uptick Rule" change that would limit short-selling, and the asset inflating mark-to-market reform - I believe there is a deliberate dynamic at work here to send Citi through the roof. I do not believe most of these to be disparate occurrences.

There are no surprises here for the government. With Citigroup being the beneficiary of government aid that it is (in multiple forms), the government is not allowing Citi to “fly solo” and speculatively squander the loan money. Publicly, Citi is not nationalized, and still has control of its own actions and interests. Privately, however, they are being accountable to a government which is threatening to bust its knee-caps. The two are working with one another, albeit behind closed doors, each acting as a special entity for the other, ultimately to benefit the shareholder, individual or government.

BZ said...

And now some crazy hopeful reaction below:

You people must learn the truth Citi will be 50.00 after earnings 31-Mar-09 05:34 pm Listen this is not some kind of pump just the truth. Citi is buying back their own toxic assets at full price. Not at .30 on the dollar but full price with the governments money. They have become the private investor through PIMCO. They book the cash and then take the asset and put it on their books with the new M2M regs at like 60% (assuming that is what M2M will allow). Let's say 300 billion repurchased that means C now has 300 billion more cash on hand plus the original assets they bought back that was valued at 90 billion is now on their books valued at 180 billion. So in a nut shell C (assuming we are working with 300 billion) now has 300 billion more cash, and their toxic assets are now worth 50% more on paper. This is what is happening and you can bet your bottom dollar on it. Why do you think the gov. converted into common because they know C will hit 100 on this news and they would recoup the original investment(if you include their investment of the toxic asset).. Brilliant move Geithner and Obama make Wall St. pay in the end.. Crazy but I think this is true. Again, all JMHO

1.)osk charge both side, first convert to usd n charge 0.3% (min usd30), then convert back to rm n charge 0.7% (min 40).
2.)hl bank also charge both side 0.2% (min usd50), then convert to rm n charge 0.7% (min 40).
osk much more cheaper but that day i received an email from kenanga, for us market 0.1% (min usd 20)whichever is higher kenanga will charge commission 0.6%. stamp duty 0.1. i think that kenanga also charge both side but much more cheaper that the other. those who already opened a cimmb itrade acc., mind share with us their brokerage fee. thanks!

hi samgang

Wanna ask you.... Should i buy AIG or Fannie Mae? which 1 is better? FNM now is cheaper....67 cents only as compared to AIG making me tempted to buy AIG..

But i know AIG bigger than FNM so risk of delisting is less compared to FNM. So do you think FNM got big risk of being delisted coz the price is below 1 dollar?

And also in terms of business in the future...will FNM business going to rebound back and be profitable?

Need your great advice here sifu.

Samgoss said...

2 ur follower,u can buy 1 lot each, as 4 GM, dont touch auto stocks,i forsee one them shld be delisted soon. cos auto industry is not so important as compared 2 finance sector.

I am also eyeing 2 buy back citi @ ard 2.00 +_,once i am in,i will post it up here.

Dear Sifu,

For political counter, how you say on UEMLAND? Tomorrow we will have new PM, Is this UEM suit for trading play at current price??

From your point of view, when we looking into those Political counter, when there are news that affecting the price, should we also consider the PE before we buy or focus more on the news? my point here is of-cause not with un-reasonable PE value, let say if there is 1 counter with the PE of 15 and u know that there are still some room to increase in the price which brough by the politic news. will this lot been buy?

Just curious how we going to judge a counter with high influence by politic such as UEMLAND :)

My advice..dont chase... I am now eyeing to buy back citi which i sold @ 3.80 d other day.

If u guys r interested..take a look at sime, crude oil up, cpo up, ioi up n most of d cpo counters also up..but not sime, she still staying ard 5.90+- since KLCI 830+- , hence,, this one is a safe bet, worth 4 consideration.

Though i dun like najib but i hv to say , his speech n announcement r absolutely marvelous , but we need to thanks PR also if not bcos of 308 , do u think UMNO will wake up a little ? still d same old saying , let hv 2 party system, check n balance, 4 those who going 2 vote this coming tuesday , vote wisely ^V^

2 ck5354, sell on strength n swap 2 sime @5.90+-.

Thanks YK 4 yr infos.
