bullbear: For example, the simple PE. PE of KNM is quoted at around 27 in the Star, in the Financial edge it is 47. The price is the same, so the calculation of PE was definitely based on different EPS used by these 2 sites. This can be confusing for the average investors.

Why should u follow d press n broking hse’s PE when they r not d same? (this show they r either don’t understand or may be don’t know how to calculate PE )Do it yrself by calculate its PE based on its earning lah ! what so difficult ?
Why there r differences of PE ? simple ! Some broking hse calculate based on last year earning, some calculate based on 1 or 2 or 3 qtrs earning !of course they r different lah !
So which one to use ? Last year PE take it as a guide, use current earning to estimate its PE for d coming year !
Example : Last year PE giving u 8
If I see its Qtr earning improving ( minus out d one off earning if there any ) n its future earning looks bright ( Steel sector n oil sector ) , I am quite sure d PE for d coming year will definitely better or lower than last year ^V^
Masteel at 1.51
Based on last year earning of 22.47
PE = 1.51/22.47 = 6.7
Based current earning (3 Qtrs only )= 23.32 cts
PE = 1.51/23.32 = 6.4
BUT dont forget, PE 6.4 is based on 3 QTRS only !! there is one more to come , therefore , we can expect lower n better PE for Masteel in year ended 2007 !
What is so difficult to get its PE yrself ?
Do u know how to define mkt crash like 1997 n 1998 ? Mkt crash is when u can buy d below blue chips at PE < 10 :-
PBB , PPB, Maybank, IOIcorp, YTL, Genting , Digi ,SD , IJM , KNM ,Resorts.....
Once u can get d above blue chips at below PE 10, then u will understand better what actually PE is !?

CK, Yr titan PE calculation is based on last year earning of 1.31 / 44.19, 3 qtr earning for this year is only 18,20, its earning came down due to crude oil hike, PE for 07 should be around 7 to 8 +, this counter is abit slow n laggard due to its huge base, coupled with rising oil price, there is some uncertainty in its future earning , I rated it as trading buy if u can get anything below 1.33+-.u should play around d range from 1.30 to 1.65.

I hv my TP price for every counter that i bought, my TP is abit conservative n normally targetted at 10 to 20% lower than it should be for safe play, look at my liondiv, I know its fair value should be around 2.80 to 3.00, but still i took profit at 2.25+_ ! it is proven correct again ^V^ she drop from 2.40+ to as low as 1.68 after my disposal ^V^ that granted me another opportunity to buy back again ! why didnt u mention this ? sour ?
Still d old saying : no one can sell at highest & buy at lowest ", bottom line :- Profit n end results that count !

Happy with liondiv n Mahsing ? for me it is just ok only.. i believed there r more to come but not in d short term due to mkt uncertainty, If u hv not taking any profit yet on liondiv, u should take at least 20% or 1/3 to prepared for any mkt correction. take profit doesnt mean its outlook is bearish, d stratergy for this SUn Tze art of war called " retreat can defend, forward can attack "! if u see mkt goes up, no worry, u still hv some in hand, if u see mkt goes down.. better still, u can buy back at lower price since u hv diposed some already .

how do u determine the target price of a counter?as mentioned in ur earlier blog, some counters are fundamentally good but their price just don't get higher, just because their price are not "fried" up. So if bought these kind of shares, we can only wait for the dividend to make profit once a year?..
and also..with today's weak momentum, is this the nice time to buy into the market?or the weak momentum will last even longer?

Answer to up n coming, what i can say about dps's right issue is :- Dps's warrant will be traded at 10cts n above esp in this type of mkt KLSE >1,400 ( refer to engtex wa, even with 1.25 conversion price with mom only traded at 0.685, she still traded at 0.21 !) .
U should pick up its right issue.

One more thing to be added on, the recent goreng on Bjcorp might be due to insider trading because good result is to be announced. From the historical trend of date of announcement, it is highly possible that result will be announced right after Christmas.
So i guess we should take christmas gift from S.C (ie. Santa Claus? or Security Commission?) before Christmas right?

I use them since early this year after following samgoss blog.In fact i recommended a few stocks to my MD for investment purposes and already reaps the rewards from him personally. Eg. Suria Buy 0.58/Sell 1.00, IJM Buy 1.26/Sold 2.06 and lately Unico Buy 0.595 & 0.64/Sold partially at 1.12 and still holding 128lots. So just wait for the CNY angpow from him next month.
Hence, i will prefer FA rather than TA. Thanks Sam for Liondiv which i still holding. Can you comment on Keladi which i recommended also to my MD when he bought 400 lots. I saw you still holding on with 110 lots. Any news on it.....can't find any latest development in Bursa/OSK news.
